Mr. Kalu Budhelia’s political journey reflects a steady progression through the ranks of the Congress Party, underlined by his dedication to service and community impact. Beginning in 1984 with the Youth Wing of the Congress, he quickly rose through leadership roles—from Ward President of the Youth Congress in 1988 to General Secretary of the Mumbai Pradesh Youth Congress by 1999.

His influence extended beyond youth politics when he became General Secretary of the North Mumbai District Congress Committee in 2006, later joining the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee as an executive member in 2015. By 2018, he was a Pradesh Congress Committee member, and he now serves as the District President of the North Mumbai District Congress Committee.

Outside of his political roles, Mr. Budhelia has contributed to governance as a Special Executive Officer (SEO) in Maharashtra and through positions on the Film Censor Board and MTNL Board. As Chairperson of the Budhelia Foundation, he emphasizes initiatives for underprivileged groups, with a focus on empowering women and youth, underscoring his lifelong commitment to social and community development.
